At the request of many of
our customers, we are pleased to offer this exciting new
service.
We
offer both a Standard and Premium card
service.
One process
uses a high-end, commerical duty, laser printer with a
screening that is very similar to an offset press.
The
second method is done through a six ink printer, which
offers greater subtleties and accuracy of color.
Card Sizes:
4.25 x 5.5 (Single or Folded)
5 x 7 (Single or Folded)
We chose these two sizes as they maximize the use of letter
size paper (8.5x11), thus offering the lowest price to
you. We can also print custom size, such as 4.25 x 6 or
6 x 8.5, but they tend to be a wasteful of paper and consequently
more expensive. Let us know your specific needs, and we
will quote a price.
Typically, we use what is
called a C1S or coated one side stock. This stock allows
for a nice finish on the front and back of the card, but
the inside is uncoated which allows for easy writing in
pencil or pen. In the case of postcards, it is also easier
to apply a stamp or address label if the card stock is
uncoated.
Print finishes:
Matt finish / economy stock:
This is an uncoated stock, which is available in a light
cream color (natural) it has no finish applied to the
surface of the paper. Despite being an uncoated stock,
there is a very low luster to the image area.
Satin:
This a very elegant print
finish, with a very low luster. It has a bright white appearance.
Our most popular card stock finish.
Gloss:
For those you who prefer a more traditional gloss finish,
we offer this heavy weight gloss paper. While gloss papers
have some of the greatest impact, they are also the most
susceptible to damage from abrasion and handling. If
you are sending a postcard through the mail, we recommend
a satin or matt finish for the greatest protection, These
gloss cards should be put in envelopes for mailing. i.e.
these are NOT recommended for postcards. Further, we
do not recommend any dual sided printing with this media
for the reasons listed above.
Dual sided (two sided) printing:
Currently, we only offer two sided printing for postcards.
For folded cards, the back side can contain text, a logo
or artwork-- either in black and white or color. This
is printed on the same side as the front prior to folding,
so is not considered two sided printing.
Standard
Card Quantities:
We offer quantities of 50,
100, 250, and 500 cards.
The minimum order is 100
cards.
Set-up fee:
The set up fee covers our
time to color correct the image, insure that text placement
is correct, and that margins are as requested.

Premium
Card Service:
Unlike the cards above, these are printed on a six ink
printer.
In addition to the standard colors of Cyan,
Magenta, Yellow and Black; light magenta and light cyan
are added to the mix to smooth out tonalities, and also
offer a wider color gamut to the final piece. Second,
the printer that is used for this process is much more
stable than the printer used above, so the accuracy of
the color is more consistent throughout the print run.
For the highest quality gloss finish, this printer is
also a hard to beat.
The disadvantage to this second process, it is it is much
slower, and the media and ink more expensive. Typically
you can expect to pay twice the price for this service.
For those who are interested in the ultimate quality, this
is the card to purchase. For smaller quantities, this printer
is ideal, and we have set the minimum quantity at 25.
Premium
Card Pricing:
We don't have the exact figures at this
point for our premium quality cards; however, you
can figure on roughly twice the price of the
standard card.
